Unfinished Business

Because this year is the centenary year of the start of what is known as the First World War, because my father fought in that war so that, even though I was not born till nearly the end of the Second World War, that first war’s shadow hung over my childhood, and because the current sequence of posts just started on this blog explores the shadow side of our experience, it seemed fitting to reblog this poem with an appropriate background picture.
